Description

The black AT-MX341b 4-Channel Automatic Mixer from Audio-Technica is a microprocessor controlled, automatic switching, 4-channel microphone mixer. This SmartMixer is designed for live applications such as meetings, seminars, teleconferencing, worship services, radio and TV broadcasting, A/V applications, and more.

This mixer has four mic/line inputs with individual priority pre-select switch for each channel and individual gain controls for each channel. To custom tailor conferencing needs, the mode of each microphone channel can be independently switched via the priority pre-select switches. The combination of switch settings results in three different modes of priority selection/operation. In any of the three modes of automatic operation, when everyone stops talking, the last microphone on will remain on. In a teleconferencing, recording, or broadcast application, this feature will provide continuous room ambience. This feature is cascaded throughout all linked mixers so that only one microphone in the entire system will remain on.

In Mode 1, wherein all the priority pre-select switches are up, the other microphones will remain on when the priority microphone(s) are active. This is useful for applications when any speaker is allowed to speak at any time. In Mode 2, wherein all the priority pre-select switches are down, the non-priority microphones will be attenuated by an adjustable value of 6 to 20 dB when the priority microphone is active. After the priority microphone stops, any microphone may come on but only one microphone may be active at a time. This mode is useful for applications when it is beneficial to have one person talking at a time. In Mode 3, wherein one priority pre-select switch is up, the priority microphone(s) can come on at any time and attenuate the other microphones. This mode is useful for applications when one speaker must be able to interrupt and speak over the other speakers. There is also a single threshold setting for all channels as well as a master output level control. The mixer has TTL logic output signals available to control speaker or camera switching, tally lights, and more.

AT-MX341-model mixers can be daisy-chained via the included AT8325/1.0 Link Cable and special connectors on the rear panel. The control bus and the audio are carried between mixers by the link cable. The result is that all microphones on a multi-mixer system can be controlled by one microphone connected to any mixer. Since all of the mixers are independently powered, there is no practical limit to the number of Smart Mixers that can be daisy-chained. The mixer comes with an AC adapter, AT8325/1.0 link cable, two rack ears, and six self-tapping screws.
